Arti’s logo in based on her bold first name and uses progressive colors with soft edges.
Arti Walker-Peddakotla ran for Oak Park Village Trustee in 2019 and was in need of a visual identity for her political campaign. I originally pitched 3 different concepts, with this chosen direction being the boldest and brightest. Alternatives included a version that was more expected in terms of political branding and another that fully leaned into the location.
The logo plays on Arti’s strong first name and personality. She ran a different, exciting campaign on a racial equity-based platform and I wanted to capture this while also having a mark that was still identifiable as a political one. The print materials gain attention through the color palette and layout while quickly summarizing the campaign’s primary goals and values.
Arti won her election and I’m honored to have been part of it in a small way.
